magic island

"I think Spyder's love for all of those unknown 70s singer/songwriters played a big role in his concept of Magic Island. That, blended with his personal life trials. I think these songs are beautiful. Spyder wrote these songs, I created the music but it's not like a Lennon and McCartney thing. It's more like Spyder created a film and I wrote the score. When he sang "Window In The Woods" it was like a film! He told me, "imagine finding an old abandoned house in the woods and you go in and explore." So I wrote a string part that captured the feeling I got when he and I actually did just that! I remember the adrenaline that ran through me when Spyder and I broke into an abandoned mental institution! It was right across the street from a police station! I don't know how we got away with it!

'Don't Want To Be' may be my favorite song on that album, I strongly recommend listening to it on headphones while you walk through crowded city streets."
