Through
The Eyes Of Molly
Molly
wakes up from her sleep with pictures of her family,
they're looking on by the bed where the nurse keeps the bottles and
syringe.
Molly stares at telephone, prisoner of the old folk's home,
but nobody calls and the time is upon us so take your medicine.
Your
son he dropped by today and he wanted to say
that he hopes your feeling better.
You were sound asleep so he tiptoed away but he wrote a lovely letter…
"I wish you could come home again".
Molly
please come over dear, the children from the church are here,
they want to sing you a song of the lord, he's prepared a place for
you.
Molly sits down in a chair, all the nervous children stare,
reluctant they sing as the pastor is offering food to everyone.
But
as the nurse she looked away, Molly slips from the room
so no one would see her crying, down the corridor
then out in the street where the cars were flying by her.
Oh Molly ran away today.
Molly
lies down in a field, underneath the sunny veils,
closing her eyes to the site of the sun as it sinks behind the hill.
Deep in sleep her spirit rose, left behind her body froze,
there in the field where she'd played in her youth and she'd race down
to the mill.
Molly
passed away today, and they found her they say
in a field behind the market.
All alone and lying there with a cold icy stare and a picture in her
locket,
it's Molly as a little girl…
