Click here to check out the 3rd annual SPLC/ VLF Sportsmanship Award awarded in Danielle’s honor. They are a great outgoing wonderful group people and awesome surfers! Even if you don’t surf, this is an exciting family fun filled event to attend.

There was a time when you could Google “Danielle Roach” and hundreds of the stories she wrote for The Virginian-Pilot – or her latest finish in one of the many races she ran -- would pop to the top of the list.  Danielle will never be forgotten by those who knew her, but we wanted to make sure that people who never met Danielle could go to the Internet and see what a wonderful, caring, giving person she was.  This Web site has become one way for us to do that.

No matter where you are, if you have access to the Internet, all you have to do is pull up www.WVEC.com  to see and hear Danielle’s voice and her “Booming Laughter.” This really comes in especially handy for some of those close to Danielle whether you’re just having a bad day or need a “Pick me up!” Seeing and hearing Danielle in action, her voice and her laughter gives you such a warm, comforting feeling inside. We are truly blessed and very fortunate. Had it not been for the Mother’s Day Special and footage of Danielle’s Varsity Sports Buzz segments from LNC5/ Pilot 13News, we would be lost.

Danielle never passed on a chance to try something new. She was very athletic. She was also active in her community in a wide range of ways. It seemed she was always preparing for the next race or another adventure. And she always made it fun - especially where a theme was involved. Danielle always went way out. At the Smithfield Hog Jog of 2003, not only did she win her division in the run, she also won best dressed – as a pink pig!  Danielle always made everything fun for herself and those around her.

Our greatest hope is that everyone involved with this race from runner to spectator has a wonderful time. With your help, the Danielle Roach “Save 7 Lives” 5K Run/Walk will be a great success benefiting a great cause. This is why we know she would have already registered to run in the second annual event. We hope that you are able to help us celebrate Danielle’s life, spread the word of the importance of organ donation and have fun. As Danielle would say with her thumbs up …”Giddy up!”
