Historical Information and Documents

· United States History Organization. This site, maintained by the Independence Hall Association (Philadelphia), provides an excellent timeline on the early days of the founding of America and its growth into a democratic republic with the development of the Constitution.

· Liberty! The American Revolution. This site is based on the 1997 PBS "special" of the same name. A series of six one-hour documentaries trace 25 years of debate, rebellion, war, and eventually peace. Starting after the French and Indian War, the presentations provide a Chronicle of the Revolution, the Road to Revolution, Perspectives on Liberty, and a view of Liberty Today.

· George Washington Papers. A collection of almost 140,000 documents of George Washington have been electronically "photographed" and are accessible through this site.

· Biographies of Founding Fathers. Covers nearly every notable personage from the era of the Revolution.
