Prayers
Act of Love O my God, I love you above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because you are all good and worthy of all my love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of you. I forgive all who have injured me and I ask pardon of all whom I have injured. Back to Top
Prayer for Guidance-- Father in heaven, you made me Your child and call me to walk in the light of Christ. Free me from darkness and keep me in the light of Your truth. The light of Jesus has scattered the darkness of hatred and sin. Called to that light, I ask for Your guidance. Form my life in Your truth, my heart in Your love. Through the Holy Eucharist give me the power of Your grace that I may walk in the light of Jesus and serve Him faithfully. Amen Back to Top
Prayer to Know Gods will- God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Author of glory, grant me spiritual wisdom and revelation. Enlighten the eyes of my mind with a deep knowledge of You and Your holy will. May I understand of what nature is the hope to which You call me, what is the wealth of the splendor of Your inheritance among the Saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of Your power toward me. Amen.Back to Top
Reflection on God's Call(Cardinal Newman) God has created me to do Him some definite service; He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission - I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall do good - I shall do His work - I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place, while not intending it, if I do but keep His commandments and serve Him in my calling. Therefore I will trust Him. Whatever, wherever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him; in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him; if I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He knows what He is about. He may take away my friends; He may throw me among strangers. He may make my spirits sink, hide the future from me - still He knows what He is about.Amen. Back to Top
Prayer Before Study- Incomprehensible Creator, the true Fountain of light and only Author of all knowledge: deign, we beseech Thee, to enlighten our understanding, and to remove from us all darkness of sin and ignorance. Thou, who makest eloquent the tongues of those who lack utterance, direct our tongues, and pour on our lips the grace of thy blessing. Give us a diligent and obedient spirit, quickness of apprehension, capacity of retaining, and the powerful assistance of Thy holy grace; that what we hear or learn we may apply to Thy honor and the eternal salvation of our own souls. Amen. Back to Top
Prayer for Enlightenment- O Holy Ghost, divine Spirit of light and love, I consecrate to Thee my understanding, my heart and my will, my whole being for time and for eternity. May my understanding be always obedient to Thy heavenly inspirations and the teachings of the holy Catholic Church, of which Thou art the infallible Guide; may my heart be ever inflamed with love of God and of my neighbor; may my will be ever conformed to the divine will, and may my whole life be a faithful following of the life and virtues of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to whom with the Father and Thee be honor and glory for ever. Amen Back to Top
Prayer
to the Holy Spirit-
Holy Spirit, Eternal Love of the Father and of the Son, take me unto
Yourself as Your vessel of election and disciple. Direct me constantly,
and uphold me in the path of my sacred vocation. Illumine my mind,
sanctify my soul and take possession of my entire being. Cover my eyes
that I may not see evil; close my ears that I may not listen to idle
words; bridle my tongue that I may never fail against Your holy
commandment of Charity; purify my heart that sin may not remain
therein. Be my Supreme Peace and Joy, be my Guide: and abide within me
always; whatsoever You forbid me, I will renounce; and whatsoever You
command, in Your strength and love I will do. Lead me, then, into the
fulness of Your truth!
Amen.

Rest Your weary ones.
Bless Your dying ones.
Soothe Your suffering ones.
Pity Your afflicted ones.
