Date: 8/15,16/09Comments: An interesting question is whether this is a spherically shaped plasma or perhaps is more of a cylindrical or hourglass shape viewed end-on. (??)
There is a very subtlely shaped area in the upper right of the image containing few or no stars - this is designated as Lynd's Dark Nebula 1231.
The big, bright blue/white star in the center is only magnitude 7 so is too dim to be seen with the naked eye from typical locations.
