Pacman Nebula

NGC 281 and IC 11

Exposure:                   H alpha = 10 x 5 min (1x1), L = 12 x 5 min. (1x1),   RGB each 15 x 5 min, (2x2)
Date:                           Sept 12 -18, 2007
Comment:                  Just off to the upper left of the central stars is a dark object known as a Bok Globule. It may look like 'space junk' but it is a natural concentration of dust and dark material that obscures the nebula behind it.
