Four Generations
The mother of Michael Arbogast of Pendleton/Highland County VA was named Catharina König or Königin (the "-in" is the feminine form, and the name means "King" or "Queen" in German.)  Her family came from Eckartsweier, Baden, in present-day Germany; Hanss König was Catharina's Great-Grandfather, and Michael Arbogast's Great-Great Grandfather.  A group of several of the descendants of Michael Arbogast of Pendleton/Highland County VA employed genealogy professional Evelyn Roehl of Kin Hunters to research the microfilmed records of the Evangelical Church of Eckartsweier to trace the ancestors of Michael Arbogast on the maternal (König) side of his family.  - E.J.

2.  ANDREAS2KÖNIG (HANSS1) died Bef. 1672 in Eckartsweier, Baden, Germany.  He married MARIA JACOBIN August 30, 1647 in Eckartsweier, Baden, daughter of JACOB JACOBS.  She was born Abt. 1623 in Odelshofen, Baden, and died October 27, 1679 in Eckartsweier, Baden, Germany.

3.  ANDREAS3 KÖNIG (ANDREAS2, HANSS1) was baptized December 31, 1654 in Eckartsweier, Baden, Germany, and died March 19, 1726/27 in Eckartsweier, Baden, Germany.  He married CATHARINA November 29, 1681.  She was born Abt. December 1657, and died March 17, 1733.

4.  CATHARINA4 KÖNIGIN (ANDREAS3 KÖNIG, ANDREAS2, HANSS1) was baptized November 13, 1695 in Eckartsweyer, Baden, Germany, and died Aft. 1736 in Kehl, Baden/Wuerttemberg, Ger..  She married (1) JOHANNES PFOTZER April 28, 1722, son of GEORGE PFOTZER.  He was born October 1696, and died December 26, 1723 in Kehl, Baden, Germany.  She married (2) MICHAEL ARBOGAST July 04, 1724 in Kehl, Baden/Wuerttemberg, Ger., son of DAVID ARBOGAST and CHRISTINA DIEBOLD.  He was bp. March 27, 1694 in Kehl, Baden/Wuerttemberg, Ger., and died May 03, 1743 in Kehl, Baden/Wuerttemberg, Ger..

Notes for CATHARINA KÖNIGIN:
The note on her baptism record refers to her being "weak" so a home baptism was performed; and on the 14th of Nov. she was again baptized at the church.

Death record: Johannes Pfozer, Citizen here, 27 yr 8 wk 6 d ; died on 26 Dec 1723. Kehl church records.

 ii. CATHARINA5 ARBOGAST, b. Abt. April 30, 1725, Kehl, Baden, Germany; d. May 28, 1725, Kehl, Baden, Germany.

Notes for CATHARINA ARBOGAST:
Baptism 20 May 1725.  "Born in Zwilling". We do not know for certain, but possibly means that she was a surviving twin; the other twin probably stillborn; unnamed and not baptized.  This is unproven.  -  EJ

 iii. ANNA MARIA ARBOGAST, bp. October 16, 1726; m. ANDREAS SOMMER, January 22, 1744/45, Kehl, Baden/Wuerttemberg, Ger.; b. Abt. 1725.

Notes for ANDREAS SOMMER:
Although the name "Andreas Sommer" appears on the 1749 Speedwell passenger manifest, it is apparently not this Andreas, since he and his wife appear on the Kehl church registers in 1751.

 iv. MICHAEL ARBOGAST, bp. September 27, 1732, Kehl, Baden/Wuerttemberg, Ger.; d. August 1812, Crabbottom, Pendleton County, VA; now Highland Co., VA.
