On June 7, Bobby Seggerman of Marcus. Iowa passed away.  Below is his obituary which appeared in the Sioux City Journal on June 8, 2006.

MARCUS, Iowa -- Bobby A. Seggerman, 81, of Marcus died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Marcus Heartland Care Center.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church in Marcus. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. today, with a rosary at 4 p.m., the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Earnest-Rohde Funeral Home in Marcus.

Bob was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Plymouth County , Iowa . He was one of 14 children born to Harm and Grace (Luitjens) Seggerman. He served in the Armed Forces from 1945 to 1947.

He married Elizabeth "Betty" Collins on May 16, 1949. They farmed in the Marcus area for 40 years and raised 12 children.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid fisherman and card player. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and watching Braves and Packers games.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of Marcus; his children and spouses, Robert Seggerman of Spencer, Iowa, Patrick and Thoi Seggerman of Singapore, Diane and Jim Kitterman of Spencer, Joan and Ed Nims of Westboro, Mo., Charlotte Johnson of Fort Lupton, Colo., Margaret and Doug Rohwer of Marcus, Ronald Seggerman of Denver, Colo., Richard and Ann Seggerman of Waverly, Iowa, Randall and Peggy Seggerman of Sergeant Bluff, Stephanie and David Phillips of West Des Moines and Steven and Tammy Seggerman of Liberty, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his twin sister, Betty Johnson of Archer, Iowa; a sister, Gloria Potts of Remsen, Iowa; and a brother, Bill Seggerman of Marshalltown, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle; and grandchildren, Creed, Ryan and Nancy.
