On Desert Island Desert Island Productions has been providing Audio Production services to the Southern California for more than six years. We specialize in digital remote recording of every kind of audio. Whether it is a live performance, studio recording, speaking engagement, sound for video and film, audio for podcast, or sound design... from project conception to release, we can do it all for you! We use three Metric Halo MIO 2882 +DSP units as the Digital I/O providing up to 24 channels of 24 bit/96khz audio into Nuendo 3. In the field, recording is accomplished using the Metric Halo MIO 2882 rig and Metric Halo's software Console feature installed on a Macintosh Aluminum 15" G4 1.25Ghz powerbook. Various microphones and microphone pre-amps are available for studio and field recording depending on client need. During mixdown in the studio, we use a hybrid method of mixing "outside the box" passing signal by the shortest route possible through any outboard processors into a passive analog summing matrix and then through any one pair of a wide choice of pre-amplifiers giving the ability to tailor the sound to meet any need. This retains the automation features of the host software while using state-of-the-art analog gear for a big, open sound. Monitoring is through a pair of Mackie HR824's in our acoustically accurate mix suite. Give us a call to discuss your next project! |
