I can remember as a young child reading the story of Adam and Eve. I was fascinated by all the "begatting" they and their children did. My mother told me that we are all related through Adam and Eve. And now, science tells us that we are all related genetically to a single female who lived long ago in Africa. No matter which theory you believe, can't you just imagine the famous people we are all related to!
I can best be described as a mutt. My ancestors come from Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and the British Isles. My grandfather Billie Mason claimed to have Indian blood and used to joke that "there was Negro in the woodpile somewhere". He may have been joking (?), but it does make an interesting point about genealogy. We take it on faith that our family trees are accurate, but given the opportunity, many of our ancestors were just as promiscuous as the characters we now see on soap operas. So, an important disclaimer: except for my two children, I wasn’t present when any of these people were conceived. So any inaccuracies there may be in this tree are someone else’s fault, not my own!
I’ve accumulated my family tree the lazy man’s way, through information given me by family members, and through information I've found over the internet. My primary contributions have been consolidating this information into one tree, photographing gravestones of my various ancestors, and creating this web site. Since this information was given to me freely, please feel just as free to copy any information that may help you with your family tree. If you have any information you would care to share with me, please let me know. I gladly take hand outs.

In the 1920s Laura Reichart Hefty compiled a family history of the Reichart and Abbeuhl families. This is a very interesting document covering not only their family history, but also telling about life in Kansas during and after the Civil War.
