Descendants of William Carnoquhan (Carnahan)

While searching the web one day, I found a great web site run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). I entered the name of my great-grandmother, Opha Lennis Carnahan, and found her, her husband, and children. From that match I was able to follow her family tree back 13 generations to William Carnoquhan, my 13th great-grandfather. Talk about having your family tree handed to you on a silver platter! However I must point out the following shortcomings. First, they misspelled Grannie's middle name (Linnie vs. Lennis). They had her birth date correct, but were 11 years off on her death date. They had my great-grandfather listed by his middle name (Arthur rather than James Aurthur), though he was known to everyone by his middle name, so they may have had him listed by his AKA. Everything else about him was correct. The point of all this is: if they make small mistakes on individuals who died less than 40 years ago, one can expect that there may also be mistakes on the spelling of names and dates of individuals who lived nearly 500 years ago? The site does state that their information was submitted by other researchers, and that the web site hadn't verified the information against official records. In spite of my complaints and doubts about the accuracy of their data, I must still say that this web site has to be the easiest way ever to trace one's family tree. If you want to do a quick and dirty check on your ancestry this site is highly recommended.
