The Reichart Family History

The Reichart (and Abbuehl) family history is a document that has been passed around the Reichart and Abbuehl families for many years. As it states at the beginning, it was written, at least in part, by Laura Reichart Hefty on April 6, 1920, as told to her by her Uncle Anton Reichart. There is much more information in this document than could have been acquired in one afternoon's conversation. I don't know if the entire document was written by Laura Reichart Hefty, or whether she had help. If anyone knows the full story of this document, please let me know so that its full history may be recorded here.

I received my copy of this story several years ago from my aunt, Bonnie Ridge, who received who received it from my grandmother, Inez Cramer (whose mother was a Reichart). I don't know who she received it from. The original document wasn't divided into chapters, but I have divided it to cut down on the download time over the internet. I took the few photos in the document at the Coal Creek Cemetery.
