Don Sawyer is a full-time artist; a colorist who expresses himself more in color than in form. He does not mix paint, but uses pure color. Completely self-taught, Don uses a stiff brush and a heavy body acrylic paint, usually on a board of wood because of it's texture and durability. He takes everyday subjects and creates his own version of that subject with color. The imperfections in Don’s work are one of the things that make it so interesting. All his frames are handmade and handpainted. “The future belongs to a colorist, the likes of which the world has never seen before” (V. Van Gogh). See more of Don's Biography.
Don’s main gallery is at HarborWalk Village in Destin, next to Harry T’s Restaurant, at the foot of the Destin Bridge. He has also opened an additional gallery in Grayton Beach, FL in The Shops of Grayton. It's located on Hwy 283 , just South of 30-A.
Sawyer Art is now introducing the DON SAWYER PRINT COLLECTION. These prints are available in two sizes, 11 X 14 and 18 X 24. Larger ones are available on request. We cater to both individuals and volume buys by resellers. Contact Don or Claire for pricing and orders.

Anthony Tusa creating a masterpiece
The Defuniak Springs Herald-Breeze"This self-taught painter has become one of the hottest artists to have their works bought and collected on the Emerald Coast. Painting eye-catching pieces that make traffic on the road stop and take a second look, he has no problem using colors that would scare most artists away. It is an artistic creation taken right out of a Hemingway novel."
