Wednesday, the rain mostly stopped. We launched the boat, but didn't go out fishing. On Thursday, the weather was more cooperative and we went bass bouncing up at the humps by Los Delfines. We did pretty good and hauled enough in for fish tacos. Ed also caught a nice sized pulpo. It somehow escaped from our fishbag and wandered around the floor of the boat. When we got back to shore, we corralled the rascal before the last roundup.

Roger from Las Encantadas came by regularly to visit. He and Joey head back down the road.

On Friday, the winds were way better and we went out to the halibut hole to investigate. No halibut were in residence, so we made our way over to our rockpile to chase cabrilla. Finding none, we were content catching numerous Goldspotted Bass, some nice ones included. We had plenty of taco material though, so we let them all go. Bruce and Christine were out there fishing too.

We went out to the seamount, trolled down to Islote La Poma, but couldn't find any surface feeders to speak of. At the end of the day, we trolled away from La Poma toward Punta Cabeza de Pato, catching nothing but a trigger on the way.

On New Year's Eve, Loncho and Ciana invited us over for a turkey dinner. It was delicious.

Christmas in Baja is not complete without spectacular sunrises and this one was no exception.

This New Year's sunrise is a panorama

On New Year's Day, the weather was not so swell again. I became a landlubber and decided to bang some nails. Cathy's new veranda took shape. Ya gotta start somewhere. The 4 x 4s I got from a huge Maxwell pallet about 10 years ago and stored beneath the trailer finally got used. They're the darker ones. I couldn't believe they were still good.
