Christmas 2002 was the first year since 1990 that I didn't spend the holiday season in Baja. We were not constrained by taking our vacation when corporate America dictated, so we spent the holidays here in San Diego and went down to Baja a couple weeks later in mid-January. Pandro, Tracy and his half-brothers Dan and Zack accompanied us. The first day was spent lounging, as the sea was sloppy from swells from some far away storm. Here at the campo it was calm. As usual, all the panoramas on the following pages are displayed as 680-pixel-wide images. This is the same width as the other pictures (they're 680 x 510). If you like the image and want to see it full-size, click on the image. JavaScript will open a new resizable window with scroll bars to display the full size (510 pixels high) panorama. When you're done looking, close the window and the original page will remain in the background.
Tracy looked way comfy.

On Saturday, the calm air produced calm seas and we headed out to the islands. The tides were running late, so we didn't make it out to the seamount. Cathy and I did do some exploring on an old fish camp on Isla San Luis.

Pandro came boating into the little protected anchorage a few minutes later.

Here he enters the lagoon.

Up on the island, we checked the old structures out. They would make a decent shelter if you ever had to sit a blow out here.

Here's a view from further away.
I took a panoramic vista of the island and the La Barra lagoon from a survey monument near where the above picture was also taken.
