The wildlife of the Encantadas area is nowhere more apparent than on Isla Lobos. A colony of over 1,000 Sea Lions breed, live, and die there. The cycle of life is complete. Human disturbances are few and far between. Food is plentiful. The Lions here are generally not the pests to fishermen that they are to the boats off San Diego, although I have been robbed of fish and lures on rare occasions. Here's Isla Lobos.

And here is the main row of mature Sea Lions.
A mother and her pup check out the visitors.

A group of youngsters sun on the cliff.

While the juveniles greet Sweet and Freda in their Zodiac.

Here's a mug shot of a young Lion.

And here's his profile,

A flock of birds chased Sweet and Freda.

Back on shore, a lizard sunned itself.

A Willet cruised the shore with dinner in its mouth.

A Reddish Egret checked me out.

Señor Osprey soared overhead.
