Apple Romaine Salad with Vinaigrette

2 bags romaine lettuce

3 medium red delicious apples

1/2 cup green onions, chopped

 

Vinaigrette:

1/2 cup Splenda

1/2 cup cider vinegar

4 tsp minced white onion

1/2 tsp ground mustard

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 cup canola oil

3/4 cup finely chopped apple

 

Wash lettuce and pat dry.  Tear pieces and put into salad bowl.  Cut apple into thin wedges and coat with lemon juice to prevent browning.  In a blender put sugar, onion, mustard, salt, oil and chopped apple.  Pulse until smooth.  Refrigerate romaine and dressing separately until serving time and toss together.  Top with apple slices and green onion just before serving.
