Who We Are

Desert Pipes is the Phoenix Chapter of the ARS. We currently have around two dozen members of all ages. Chapter activities include monthly meetings and rehearsals. We also sponsor workshops given by leading recorder teachers including the Farallon Quartet, Letitia Berlin, Frances Blaker, Eileen Hadidian, Vicki Boeckman, and the Wood 'n' Flutes trio. Our repertoire for monthly playing sessions is generally Renaissance and early Baroque music at an intermediate level, but we have resources for players of all levels of ability. Membership fee is $50 per year for members of the American Recorder Society and $60 for others, or $5 per meeting for part-year residents or drop-ins. Many of our members have their own performing groups, so it is a great opportunity for networking with fellow musicians.
