This is a superbeetle before and after it rolled. It was participating in the Tuff Truck/Arena Racer competition at the Clark County Fair in Vancouver WA. It rolled right at the finish line so they managed to take home a nice trophy. The car suffered some extensive body damage so the owners stripped most of the parts for a sand rail and it sat for nearly a year when Erik met up with it. The previous owners gave him the car that was basically just a shell.
Erik has pulled the roof and door jamb back out so that the door functions. The rear torsion has been turned to lift the car and the trailing arms have been gusseted. It will receive a 1600DP and stock tranny for now. Erik has installed KYB struts up front and plans to add a second shock to go with them. He's also working on a roll cage and has installed Plymouth Laser seats. He's redrilling the rear drums for chevy bolt pattern so that he can have two sets of wheels and tires. One set for dirt and one for sand. Erik also plans on installing turning brakes, KC lights, CB and an eight foot lighted whip antenna.
Erik says there are several super beetle bajas running around the hunting areas of Gales Creek, Oregon and at Sand Lake in Tillamook WA. Look for him to be there next summer. He also plans to run the arena race in August 2000.
Good luck and try to keep the shiney side up!

Jeff has spent the winter in Indiana building this car, so he doesn't have any action photos yet. But, due to lack of readers pics I'm posted it anyway. Besides it's a pretty nice looking car. He has been busy replacing every nut and bolt so that everything is new on this car and he's not done yet. Unfortunatly someone made Jeff an offer he couldn't refuse, and he sold the car.

Vern and his dad built this baja in five days.
Check out vern's page for more info about his car and to see the conversion process.

These are a couple of before and after shots.

Here is a few pics of my recently acquired 76 baja. It came with a bone stock 1600 dual port but now as of this weekend I'm running a 1776. What a difference. Living in the panhandle of oklahoma we don't have a lot of hills but my son and I still manage to have a great time playing in our baja.

Guymon, Ok.

I know you can't see it, but I'm sure there's a baja in there._________
This is a 70 baja that has been lifted front and rear, pretty much stock other than that.
