Organizations Eligible for Voluntary Contributions

 

Virginia law allows taxpayers to voluntarily donate all or part of their income tax refund to one or more qualified organizations as approved by the General Assembly. 

Following is a brief description of the services provided by organizations eligible for voluntary contributions.

To make a contribution to any of these organizations on your tax return, seethe instructions on Virginia Schedule ADJ. 

You may also send your contributions directly to the organization.  

 

Two recipients that funds can be directed to are:  

 

1)  Spay and Neuter Fund (Code 86) Contributions will be used in the Fund's mission of providing monetary assistance for spay and neuter services for dogs and cats.  

 

2)  Virginia Federation of Humane Societies (Code 84)Committed to promoting and improving the welfare of animals in Virginia.

Dewey Animals, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, which is run solely by volunteers, whose purpose is to promote spaying and neutering, adoptions and humane treatment of all animals through funding of low cost spay and neuter and humane education. Donations are tax exempt. A financial statement is available upon written request from the Virginia State Division of Consumer Affairs.
