A number of years ago I knew "zip" about Welsh Springer Spaniels - today I am owned by one.  If you're like most folks, when you see our dog, Alex, you'll think he's a Brittany, or an English Springer Spaniel.  Alex was born on July 4th, 1997 at ShawnDee Kennels in Rockford, Iowa.  I could have appropriately called him "Firecracker" - What I can tell you from experience is that he is a fine little dog (I consider just about all dogs to be "little" after living with Dodzie) that loves being with people.  He's good with children and loves to go for runs in the fields.  He's not "hyper", but he's not nearly as "laid back" as a Newfie (Just ask my wife Kathy who watches my granddaughters, Harper & Lauren, during the day).  I am not a hunter, nor do I show dogs - I was just looking for a loyal companion.  I found one!  There's quite a bit of information about Welshies out here on the web, and I've included a few links for those of you looking to learn more about the breed.
