He came from Wood-Dilton Co. Cambridge, England in the ship Increase in 1635,
abt age 55 with wife Frances, abt age 50, and five children.The eldest son
Thomas came from Ipswich, Eng., in the Elizabeth, 1634, with wife Elizabeth ,
and as nothing more is heard of him, it is probable that he came in advance to
make preparations for the family's coming and returned soon after. It seems
another son, George, came with his brother, Thomas and is registered as a
member of the Roxbury, Mass. church in 1638; and in 1640 was a free-man
residing in Rowley, Mass. A third child, daughter Elizabeth, remained in
England. A memorial window was to have been placed by American
descendants of Thomas in St. Mary's church at Wood-Ditton, of which he was a
Warden in 1632, and in which the baptismal records of the emigrant Kilbourne
family are preserved.

Frances Moody was born on 11 Oct 1584 in W ood Ditton, Combe, Cambridge, England. She died on 10 Nov 1650 in Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut. She married Thomas Kilbourne on 5 Sep 1604 in Wood Ditton, Cambridge or Moulton, Suffolk, England.

In the initial research we are showing the father of John and Ensign
William Goodrich as William Goodrich, Sr. He lived in Watertown, Mass.(See
Bond's "Watertown" page 777) Also see Hubbard's "Goodrich Memorial," Part III.
Subsequently, we have found files in the DAR library in Dodge City, researched
by a Marcia V. Ferguson in July 1984, showing John Goodrich as the father and a
William Goodrich as the grandfather. Our files have been so amended (assuming
her research is more accurate than ours).

Margery How?.Margery married John Goodrich on 7 Aug 1615.

Matthew Marvin [Parents] was born on 26 Mar 1600 in Great, Bentley, Essex, England. He died on 20 Dec 1678 in Norwalk, New London, Connecticut. He married Elizabeth (Elizaphatt) Gregory in Jan 1621/1622 in St. Mary's Church, Great Bentley, Essex, England.

Came to America from London in the ship "INCREASE", in 1635. He was then 35
years of age and brought with him his wife Elizabeth, aged 31, and children:
Elizabeth, 11; Matthew, 8; Mary 6; Sarah, 3; Hannah, 6 months. He was an
original proprietor of Hartford in 1638, and was one of the original grantees
of Norwalk, and settled there in 1653. He was a representative the next year.

Elizabeth (Elizaphatt) Gregory [Parents] was born in 1603/1604 in Great Bentley, Essex, England. She died on 24 Jan 1680/1681 in Hartford, Connecticut. She married Matthew Marvin in Jan 1621/1622 in St. Mary's Church, Great Bentley, Essex, England.

James (Jake) Alford [Parents] was born on 21 Dec 1791 in , Wythe County, Virginia. He died on 9 Aug 1861 in Alfordsville, , Indiana. He married Hannah Baker in 1813 in , Montgomery Co, Virginia.

Founder of Alfordsville, Indiana and established the Christian Church there.

Hannah Baker [Parents] was born in 1791 in Crockett's Cove, Wythe County, Virginia. She died on 27 Aug 1875 in Peru, Chautauqua Co, Kansas. She was buried in Alford Cemetary, Chautauqua Co, Kansas. She married James (Jake) Alford in 1813 in , Montgomery Co, Virginia.

Alford Cemetary is located approximately 3-4 miles northwest of Peru, Ks. Only roads into the cemetary are oil lease roads.

James Alford and Hannah Baker moved to Indiana in 1816 and settled on the south bank of the White River, at Portersville, DuBois Co. After a few years they moved northward about 5 miles where they lived in a two story hewed log house. This was the first building in what was to be Alfordsville, named by James Alford. He gave the land for the first Christian Church, which most of the Alfords attended. This was the first Christian Church in Reeve Township. He also gave land for the first school house in Reeve Township. Hannah (Baker) Alford moved to Chautauqua Co., Kansas with her granddaughter, Orlena (Harris) Alford and her husband William Harvey Alford after the death of James Alford.
