Financial Donations |
Diana's Books is a nonprofit organization and all donations are
tax-deductible. We recommend that you make your online tax-deductible
donations to any public charity through GuideStar.
GuideStar is commissioned
to list valid 501(c)(3) organizations recognized by and in good standing
with the IRS.
All donations are applied directly to mission, directly to the expenses of sending books to our international and local fully-supported beneficiaries, to people who want and need them. For example, 214 boxes were shipped to Nairobi, Kenya in 2007! In 2009, we worked with Nascent Solutions to ship 150 boxes to Cameroon.

Why are you currently closed for donations? |
Recently, we have accepted many large donations from a variety of benefactors including Pender United Methodist Church, the remains from the AAUW sale, and Arlington's E-Care. We have also continued to accept individual donations of various sizes. Basically, we are full up!
We would be grateful for any information that would lead to the donation of storage space. Although we continue to ask for this, we have yet to get an offer.
We are also interested in hiring more contractors to process our books for Internet sale. If you know someone who is interested in flexible part-time employment, please have them contact us.

Book and Media Donations |
We accept
gently-used DVDs, CDs, books-on-tape, and, of course, books! We do not accept once-wet or musty books. If it is truly trash, please, throw it away!The name and address of the donator is required!

Small / Medium Donations |
Donations are accepted at the residence at 10820 Orchard St Fairfax VA 22030-3017 between ten and noon on Fridays and Saturdays. Small donations (less than 2 boxes) can be dropped off nearly at any time and placed in our blue, plastic bins.

Large Donations |
Contact us to arrange to pick up your large donation of 18 boxes or more. Unfortunately, we do not accept large donations that have been previously culled for Internet value. We do not accept large donations when a portion of the donation has been made to another organization.

What Happens to Your Books? |
We try to do our best with each item. If it is suitable for our beneficiaries, it is sent. If it can be sold to raise funds for our mission, it is sold. We distribute books locally for free. If the book cannot be rescued, we recycle for paper.

Your Receipt |
A 4x6 inch postcard will be your receipt and will be mailed within six weeks, describing your donation. It us up to you to determine a monetary value for your donation.
