The Prodigal Son

The first and greatest superhero of all time, Superman, takes his first flight, as his faithful dog Krypto follows. Though he stands at the edge of a sheer cliff, he smiles. Not because he is oblivious, but rather because he is confident in his abilities. At the same time, however, he holds tight to his cape. Sewn by his adoptive mother from the blankets he was swaddled in by his birth mother before being rocketed away from the destruction of Krypton, it is a great comfort to him as he begins his journey.

The Prodigal is a symbol of power, both the basis of the generations of heroes to come, as well as the goal that all heroes strive to reach.
