The Sun

Superman's symbol, a red 'S' in a truncated yellow square, on a blue field. The square, a four sided figure, is a symbol for the concrete world and mundane physical laws, as in the "four corners of the earth". Truncated, it forms a pentagon, a five sided figure, the geometic symbol for regeneration and eternal life, rich in mystic symbolism. It is also a diamond, a symbol of purity and invulnerability. The truncation leaves an implied triangle, a symbol for the divinity hidden in each of us. The Father-Mother-Child imagery is also continued, as the pentagon forms the Star symbol of Wonder Woman, and the triangle is the basis of Batman's Icon.

Divinatory meanings

Upright: Success in a never-ending battle, triumph of the Man of Tomorrow, a reward of Justice.
