The Way of the Galactic Candle places one thing above all else in known existance:
KNOWLEDGE!
Second come the Eum, as befits their status as the central clearing house of all knowledge. Then comes everything else. Gods, heroes, spirits, and abstract theological conundrums are treated the same - no more, no less - as the price of T'a on Chaal on a given day, or the hight of the next-to-most recent Rotan on the day he took office. The are learned voraciouly, recorded indelibly, and recited as the Eum require. Some may say that mere "information" is too sterile a medium to base an entire religion upon. But there are none so eager, so devout as a Lectari with something to learn.
Regardless of the passion of the Lectari for learning, the narrowness of their cosmology does not leave much room for miracles. There have been the occasional divinitory catechism or request for protection from harm, and there are tales told - by others, recorded but never recited by a Lectari or Eum - of "supernaturally" charming Lectari (what is to be expected from those that dedicate their life to inquiry?), but otherwise the Lectari rely more on their personal knowledge than grace from above.
One significant exception to this is the Lectari Ritual of Psionic Preparation. This is the first thing a Lectari learns, and is a symbol of her new path. The ritual enhances a Lectari's Psi abilities, allowing them to do more on their own. Since Psi is based in a knowledge of the laws of the Universe, the Lectari see it as the purest expression of power, and the ritual as the most efficient tool to bring them closer to "The Truth".

Effect: Increases character’s Psi Manip and Psi Resist skills.
By lighting a a specially prepared candle and concentrating on the flame - a flame that always burns to match the color of the Lectari's rank - while speaking the ritual the character is able to increase both their Psionic Manipulation and Resistance skill. The result points above the ritual’s DV of 13 are read on the power push table, and resulting value, +1 for every level the Lectari has achived in the spectrum (red = 1, violet = 7), to both skills. (If the GM has divided up Psi Manip in some way, each successive skill should receive two points less bonus, ordered by the character.) As befitting the Law of Acceptance, the specific ritual is unique to each Lectari, though all will include something about "shedding light over the darkness of ignorance." In order that the Lectari will not abuse this power, for the duration of the miracle the Lectari cannot use their powers to directly effect a Lectari of the color one step beneath them in the spectrum (or a non-lectari for Reds), nor the physical representation of that color (black for Reds). A Lectari can however take non-Psionic action without impacting the miracle in any way. It is not known if the Eum themselves have a similar restriction.
