Cosm: Core Earth
Thanks to Faye Levine for the inspiration.
You have always had a head for numbers, and a desire to help people. As a youth, you gave away as much lemonade as you could and still turn a profit on your corner stand. In high school you were treasurer of the Glee and Home Ec clubs. In college - working towards a double major of Mathematics and Pre-Med - you interned in the Financial Aid office, which is where you discovered your true calling. The ability to determine need through the careful analysis of known facts and likelyhoods seemed so simple, so elegant. So right.
After graduation, you took the Actuarial Exam - doing slightly better than average - and soon found yourself working for a major international insurace agency. While formulating tables and determining new methods of analysis was challenging, it just wasn't fulfilling. You transfered to the claims office, where you excelled at disaster relief, always being the first on the scene, no matter how far, or how dangerous. And even though you were always the last to return to the office, your clients were always the first to receive payment.
The invasion hasn't altered your work any, only the nature of the claims. Whether your house has been struck by a lightning bolt or a Lightning spell, your car crushed by an 18-wheeler or an 18-legged scaly bear, it's still a matter of helping people when they need it the most.
Personality:You are a nice guy, and will go out of your way to help whenever possible. But you often cannot see the forest of people amidst the number trees, tend to go with the odds rather than instinct, and often end up doing things "by the book" because it is the only way you know how.
Equipment:Cell phone, Digital watch (with calculator and calendar functions), Laptop computer (with latest Statistics packages and access to Internet databases), First aid kit ("90% of all accidents occur withing two miles of home, most in the bathroom."), Pilot's license ("You are 100 times more likley to die in a car than in a plane."), Keys the the company car (with side-impact air-bags), latest Tom Clancy novel.
Quote: "I am very sorry, but after a careful review of your policy, it appears that you are only covered against acts of your own God."
