Dear
readers, I no longer write romance novels as I now believe that
premarital sex is outside the Kingdom Life. I am not
writing Christian romance, either and don't know enough about the genre
to comment. Likely, I will never write any kinds of romance
novels unless directed to do so by the Lord. In the meantime he
has revealed to me real love and romance.
"It
is almost inconceivable today that the rightness or wrongness of sexual
intercourse would have nothing whatsoever to do with what now passes
for romantic love. Yet that is the biblical view generally: the
rightness of sex is tied instead to a solemn and public covenant for
life between two individuals, and sexual arousal and delight is a
response to the gift of uniquely personal intimacy with the whole
person that each partner has conferred in enduring faithfulness upon
the other..." Dallas Willard...The Divine Conspiracy
Today's
romance novels are sexier than ever, and this is encouraged by the
publishers. They indicate to the writer "how hot" to make the
books, and there is an ever increasing genre of unmarried women who are
pregnant. I was never comfortable writing sex scenes even before
Kingdom Life, and was much more involved in character
development. This perhaps was my demise in the industry as
publishers wanted "Chick Lit" "Sex and The City" kind of books when I
was actively writing. The "hotter the better."
Though
I would not list my books as X-Rated by today's cultural standards,
they are outside of the Kingdom by the Lord's standards. I've
thought long and hard about continuing to list these books as
mine. As of now, the Lord has not moved me to deny my
accomplishments, though I am obligated to give advanced warning as to
the content of these books. They are out of print and only
available though the Internet.
Currently I am working inspiration writings and my journey out of an eastern religion and into Kingdom Life.
