Principal of Komorous Consulting.  Provide forensic services related to design, construction and engineering.  Provide inspection services for construction defects and

accident litigation. Accident reconstruction.  Analyze plans, specifications, contracts, change orders, daily reports and correspondence to determine delays, procedures and

claims.  Prepare estimates to determine repair or completion costs.  Provide testimony as to custom and practice in the construction industry for construction defects and injuries.

 

1999-Present

Owner, Construction Company

Owner of Scratch Masters.  Provide window washing, construction cleanup, and glass    scratch removal for the construction industry.

 

1993 – 1999

Vice President, Consulting Company           

Vice President of D R K Consulting & Associates, a division of D R K Construction Co., Inc. Provide forensic serviced related to design or construction.  Perform inspection services for defect and accident litigation.  Analyze plans, specifications. Contracts, change orders, daily reports and correspondence.  Prepare estimates for correction of defects.  Provide testimony as to custom and practice in the construction industry for construction defects and injuries. 

 

1991 – 1993

Project Manager and estimator

Employed by Westway Contractors.  Duties included preparation of estimates for major projects on military bases, hospitals, libraries, community centers, fire stations, and tilt –up industrial buildings and Caltrans Metro Rail Stations.  Concrete foreman on a helicopter maintenance building for the U. S. Marine Corps and a Caltrans Metro Rail Station.

 

1988 – 1993

Owner, Construction and Engineering Companies       (Concurrent with other work)

Owner of Aspen Company.  Built three custom homes including design, labor, and supervision.  Preformed grading, concrete, framing and ceramic tile work.  Provided estimates for construction financing.  All homes were completed on schedule and within 6 months.

 

Owner of Komorous Engineering.  Prepared grading plans, site plans, tract maps, parcel maps and estimates for various commercial/industrial, condominium and housing projects.

 

1991-1993

Estimator for La Palma Equipment, a grading contractor.

1988 – 1991

Project Manager

Employed by Fisch Properties, a development company.  Responsible for preparing estimates, writing contracts, working with architects and owners to obtain functional building documents and construction supervision of all projects.  Projects included remodeling of three custom homes in Beverly Hills, 24,000 sq. ft. Spancrete retail building including a parking structure, 16,000 sq.ft. Retail building, 8,000 sq. ft. Retail

building, 64,000 sq. ft. building including five floors retail and three floors of subterranean parking, and tenant improvements.

 

1984 – 1988

Project Manager and Vice President of Construction

Employed by Marlin Construction Company. Duties included preparing estimates, negotiating bids, change orders, purchase orders and supervision of all field projects.  Projects included forty-nine unit housing tract, six unit housing tract, six unit gated condominium project, shopping centers, bus maintenance garage for Long Beach Transit, tilt-up warehouse, post-tensioned parking structures, tenant improvements, gymnasium, community center, apartment complex and hotel.

 

1977 – 1984

Responsible Managing Employee and Partner

Organized and owned Magnus Company, a construction company that primarily built public works projects.  In a five-year period, increased bonding capacity from $300,000 to $3,000,000 per project.  Responsibilities included preparation of estimates and budgets, bidding, contracts, change order and purchase orders.  Acted as liaison between agency and field, provided inspection services for the South East Park District, inspected construction of parks and park buildings.  Projects included custom home, five schools, six parks, fire station, two bridges, community center, sewage lift station and bus maintenance center.

 

1975 – 1977

Superintendent

Employed by The August Company, a general contractor, as a superintendent.  Duties included supervision of a large restaurant and parking structure and supervision and project management for the company’s largest project, a vehicle service center and campus storage facility for U.C.L.A.

 

1974 – 1975

Principal and Director of Construction and Engineering

Employed by Recreation Systems, a park planning firm.  Duties included engineering design, estimating, represented client for job site construction inspection, and reviewed all change orders.  Projects included community center, six buildings, fourteen parks and one lake.

 

 

 

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: (cont.)

 

1969 – 1974

Project Engineer and Assistant Supervisor of Engineering Department

Employed by Reiss and Brown, an engineering design firm. Duties included design and engineering of buildings, site plans, grading plans, sewers, water and storm drains plans for projects including two major shopping centers and many commercial projects. The largest project was Bonelli Regional Park encompassing two thousand acres, eight miles of roads four miles of storm drains and sewers.

 

1968 –1969

Civil Engineer Assistant and Assistant Project Manager

Employed by the City of Los Angeles, assigned to the Venice Waterways Development, a special project for Mayor Sam Yorty – comprised a $21.5 million, 80-acre water-

oriented community.  Duties were preparation of cost estimates, coordination of design contractors, city departments and plan checkers.  Project never built.

 

1966 – 1968

Civil Engineer Assistant

Employed by the City of Los Angeles, Utility and Estimating Division.  Responsibilities included preparation of cost estimates, quantity calculations and field inspections.

 

Summer 1964

Designer

Employed by Dormont Allen Company.  Duties included designing and installing conveyors.

 

Summer 1963

Assistant to Director of Research and Development

Employed by Motorola Semi-Conductor.  Worked in research department of the first automated transistor machine.  (Secret Clearance)
