Sunday, July 13, 2008  -  HE SAID:  Today we drove into Grand Rapids to get some groceries and to see if I could get one of my prescriptions refilled there.  Turns out I could not, so I ordered them on line and they hopefully will be delivered to our next stop in Harvard, Illinois.  I look for reasons to go to the Walmart super center.  I just really like that store.  We stopped on the way back and got fuel for the truck.   We averaged 16.5 mpg on the last tank, most of which was pulling the trailer.  Pretty good.  My niece Robyn Lillo and her husband Ray stopped for a visit and we had fresh strawberry shortcake.  Also visiting this weekend Doug and Dar's grandson Evan.  I'm trying to get him to teach me how to play cribbage.  It is windy again today, but not as bad as yesterday.  Just enough to keep the bugs away.  We saw 5 deer today, but no other wildlife unless you count the cat Snowflake that Marce is holding.  Doug BBQ'd ribs tonight, and we sat around the campfire just enjoying a nice Minnesota summer evening.

Sunday, July 13, 2008  -  SHE SAID:    Well, today was a beautiful day outside, pretty breezy still, but the sky was an incredible blue and filled with endless white clouds. The day was made even more special by getting to talk to our precious granddaughters, Zenia and Sabryn, who are finally in their new home in North Carolina. It sure was a blessing to hear their voices and I missed getting to talk to our grandson, Jaegur, but he was outside running around, enjoying the yard. I told the kids that every night before I go to sleep, after my prayers, I always imagine I am hugging all of them  and kissing them good night--so IF they felt a kiss on their foreheads, it wasn't their imaginations. So, needless to say, we are really looking forward to being able to do just that when we see them in August.

But, we had another lovely day visiting with some very special folks, our niece Robyn and her husband Rayno, --and last night another nephew, Loren, stopped by and our niece Laurie, his wife, stopped by a few days earlier--and all I can say is they are all just great kids...truly some of the nicest folks you could ever meet.

We have also had the chance to get to know Evan, who is Mike's son (Mike is Dar & Doug's son) - and Evan has one on the gentlest spirits of any kid I have ever met. The look of wonder and pure innocence in his eyes absolutely blows me away--especially since he is going on 13. God definitely has some special plans for this kid, mark my words.

But, we sure are enjoying ever day and are very aware of what a gift this trip is to us. We don't plan on taking one day of it for granted! Blessing after blessing just keeps rolling in!
