Friday, August 1, 2008 -  SHE SAID:  Well, today I am sure I provided some great footage for someone to submit to America's Funniest Home Videos, with me taking a real graceful header onto the pavement by missing a step at Arlington Park race track! My skinned knee was soothed by the fact that I was able to go up and cash in some winning tickets, thanks to Cheri and I pooling our $2 bets together to cover the Win & Show spots on some races. We ended our joyous day at the race track by betting a Blocked Trifecta--that's when you pick three horses and they just all need to finish in the top three positions--and that won us almost $25 each for our meager $6 bet.

The day was made extra special by Vince , Jay, Dave & his son Chris, Chuck, Stella, Isabel & Sophia being there--so we had lots of smiles, hugs, and again, good food by way of some excellent sandwiches being part of our packed picnic lunch. The boys were quite impressed I'm sure that old Auntie made some good bets, but I am also equally sure that the admiration quickly diminished when old Auntie went tumbling down the steps looking like a drunken sailor. And, just for the record, old Auntie was only drinking bottled water!
