Wednesday, July 2, 2008  HE SAID:  We drove just a little over 300 miles today and are spending the night at a nice campground in Idaho Falls, Idaho.  It has free wireless internet access which is a bonus.  Some places charge an additional $5-6.  We stopped at a Walmart and thought about spending the night in their parking lot, but it's so nice to have air conditioning.  Marce fixed a nice dinner and we went for a walk into town afterwards.  Still did not get my 10000 steps today.  Marce forced me to stop at a Denny's on the walk to get some cheesecake with cherries on the top.  What could I do?  Overall a somewhat uneventful day.  The weather has been great and the truck is running flawlessly.  We just made reservations for a campground at East Glacier for Friday and Saturday night.  Don't know where we will be tomorrow night, but Friday and Saturday are covered.

SHE SAID...Well, here we are in Idaho Falls, and it sure has been delightful to see all the beautiful green hills and all the beautiful horses along the drive today.  We hit a bit of crammed up traffic for a short while near Salt Lake City, but it finally cleared up--thank goodness.

I have discovered how to give myself a good headache while in the trailer--just whack my head into the cupboard that hangs over the kitchen sink.  IF I am not paying attention, it is a very easy thing to do whenever I am working by the front sink doing dishes...so looks like the only way to protect myself from injury is NOT do any more dishes!

Thursday, July 3, 2008  HE SAID…. Today we slept in later than usual and didn't get on the road until after 9:00.  Going through Montana has been the most scenic part of the trip so far.  It is great being retired and not in a hurry.  There is still some snow left in the higher mountains even though the temperature today has been in the mid 70's.  We drove less than 300 miles today and are spending the night at a campground in Helena, Montana.  This is the first time I have had trouble getting into a campsite.  The first one was impossible due to large trees and trucks parked nearby.  I did not even try to back in.  They gave me another which wasn't much better.  Some guy in a motor home had put his satellite dish in the spot I was supposed to park in.  We asked him to move and he did but did not seem friendly about it.  After a couple tries I managed to back in okay, but would have had to unhook the truck and park it next to the trailer.  I decided I did not like this spot so decided to just get my money back and go elsewhere.  I pulled out and went back to the office for the 3rd time.  That's when they said "Would you like a pull through?"  Huh?  I said, "I thought you said you didn't have any pull throughs left."  So, they give me a pull through with no extra charge for my inconvenience and all is well.  Marce is cooking dinner and it smells very good.  Pork Loin I am told.
