BIO....

Being adopted at the young age of 2 (and 3) was one of the most wonderful events in my life. My sister Denise Elaine (next to mom, Ruth Elaine Ware) and I are blood sisters and are exactly 364 days apart in age. That means that for one day out of every year we are the same age, a small fact that at one time use to drive her nuts. Sorry sis! Dee is one year older than I, is 2" taller, has blonde hair (I have brown) and is my very best friend. My father George Homer Ware, (to the left of me, Patricia Ann) was a kind gentle man who together with my mom gave my sister and I a very stable and loving home enviroment. For most of my life I grew up on a 40 acre farm, which included horses, cows, chickens, dogs and cats, and 20 acres of alfala which my dad farmed.

My nephew, Jeff, above left, is standing in front of the Ware house on the farm. The second 2 photos show the loading shoot my father built that leads into the corral (which he also built). In the 3rd photo you can see the local grocery store which was called Neils Mercantile, which at one time was known as the Standish Lodge built in 1907. It was on the right corner that we used to catch the school bus to take us into Susanville, which was 14 miles. Just a bit of trivia; one weekend I literally ran into Tennesse Ernie Ford while he was coming out the front door of Neil's one summer afternoon!

For interesting reading about the old Standish Lodge, which according to this website is haunted, follow this link: ghostweb. I wish I could say I knew who was supposedly haunting this old building, but alas I do not. Still I found it fun to explore the site.
