The Good Manners Club™
is dedicated to helping adults teach good manners to children. Manners are life skills. They give children an advantage. By learning and using manners, children become more confident. They are also more comfortable when they know how to get along with others.

When children know what is and is not expected of them, they are more likely to do the right thing.

Teaching children manners at an early age helps the behaviors to become second nature. The more they use them, the sooner they will become accustomed to treating others the way they like to be treated themselves.

Consistency is very important when teaching manners, so what ever you do be sure to follow the rules yourself. Being a good role model is key, because children do emulate adults' behavior.

An added benefit of teaching good manners is that they are a wonderful form of discipline!

Following this information, you will find The Good Manners Club™ "Practice Makes Perfect" Chart, which you may use at home or in the classroom to promote proper behavior in ten basic areas:

    Using Please and Thank You;
    Using Good Table Manners;
    Cleaning Up After Yourself, which shows responsibility;

    Obeying Parents and Teachers;
    Being Helpful;
    Sharing - When You Should;
    Avoiding Interrupting Others;
