"God I hate this place, it's playing havoc with my hair" Willow shook her red ringlets
to make her point.
"Oh do stop whining, I'm sick of it!" retorted Anya from the other side of the room
"Both of you pipe down, you're giving me a headache, we've got a lot of planning to
do and your bickering isnt helping!" Giles said, as he paced through the dark cave.
In the corner with her nose in a book Faith looked up and smiled as she shook her
head, she never understood her demon sisters obsession with their appearances,
getting the plan done was all that mattered to her, even if the killing part wasn't
really her thing she was 'plan gal' and proud of it.
Giles placed his hand on her shoulder and scanned the book she was reading.
"Found anything new about the slayer yet?" he asked.
"Not yet but I know I will, and when the time comes, we will be the ones to take
him out first" Faith replied.
"Yeah, I can't wait to taste that slayer blood and feel him die in my arms!" Anya
piped up.
"No, I think thats MY job" Willow threw back.
"Actually, its my job to take down the slayer and taste the powerful blood that fills
him" Giles said firmly.
"But, don't we get to have a taste?" Willow pouted.
"Yeah my precious, you do but not until I had my fill!" Giles said then added,"Its
nearly sunset girls, so you'd better go get ready to hunt"
Anya got up and sauntered through to the other cave where they slept, it looked
like any normal teenagers bedroom with the exception of the obvious 'cave thing',
there were two beds (Willow and Anya slept together), and two dressing tables
covered with all types of make-up, which they put on each other daily with a
flourish only 'teenage girls' could have. Although they could not see their
reflections, there was a large mirror resting preciously on the center of the dresser.
Willow and Anya liked to pretend they could see themselves twirling and preening
in front of it.
Anya flopped down on the four-poster bed she shared with Willow and kicked off her
shoes, *tonight * she thought * I will be Madonna * she laughed. Every night they
liked to pick someone famous to dress like. She undressed and rummaged naked
through the pile of clothes lying on the sofa. She pulled out a black cowboy shirt
and hipster jeans, *perfect* she thought. After she'd dressed she pulled on some
tan cowboys boots and a black cowboy hat that shed gotten from a real cowboy.
He'd been a feisty one, giving her a real run for her money before she lured him
into her bed and sent him to heaven permanently. Her musings were interrupted by
Willow entering the cave.
"Madonna..hmmmm good choice, I think Im going to go with the whole Dark Angel
thing tonight cause black leather really does it for me." she laughed.
"Yeah, it does suit you. So are we going to the club to pick up guys or are we going
somewhere with more life than this town?"Anya asked.
"You will stay close and inconspicuous, the time is getting close and I dont want to
lose any of you.",Giles replied from the doorway.
"Ok" Anya pouted
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The club was hot and smoky, Willow and Anya had picked a table in the darkest
corner they could find and sat there watching the band play. "Oooh he's hot!"
Willow said looking at the drummer, "I think Ill be taking him tonight!"
"Yeah and the bass player isnt bad either." smirked Anya.
**Elsewhere in the Bronze, Angel sat with Spike, trying to cheer himself up.**
"I suppose this whole reality isnt so bad," Angel mused "It's not like I don't know
anyone AND, on the plus side, I have a life with people who care, not to mention
the added bonus of food and sunlight."
"Still mopping about your 'alternate' life?" Spike interrupted, using quotation marks
with his hands.
"Well, yes and no, I mean this is all still not right but it does have it's plus side."
Angel reasoned.
"Yeah like all the hot chicks round here and the band ain't bad either." Spike
laughed.
"Well actually I was referring to the practical side of things, like eating and stuff",
Angel smiled, realizing that THIS Spike wasn't all that different as the one he's
always known, with the obvious exception of the whole vampire thing.
Angel found himself beginning to like Spike, which is something that he'd never
have thought would happen, not in a million years! He'd already spent over 100
years with him in tow and had never had the chance to really get to know him, well,
actually he never wanted the chance to get to know him, all he'd ever wanted to do
was to stake him.
Strangely he found the fact that Spike was his friend comforting.
He looked around the club, the place was packed. People were crammed on the
dance floor. Thats when he noticed them, two very hot looking girls, not his type at
all but somehow very familiar to him. He got up grabbing Spike's sleeve as he
went.
"What?" Spike protested.
"Over there, look do you see them?" Angel asked.
"Where? Oh the hot looking babes!?" Spike grinned, "I thought Buffy was the only
girl for you."
"She is, but look closely at them, they look familiar to me do we know them?" Angel
asked.
"No, not yet but the night is still young." Spike said as he ran his fingers through
his hair and started to move towards them.
Angel grabbed his arm and stopped him. "No, wait. That's not what I had in mind, I
think the're vampires" Angel exclaimed.
"Vampires, but we've never had vamps turn up here before, are you sure?" Spike
paused then continued, " Okay, stupid question really, seeing as if anyone would
know , you would, being the slayer and all. So what now? Are you geared up to deal
with them?"
"Yeah Im ready, and so are you." Angel said, passing Spike a stake.
***
Willow had managed to chat up her drummer and was working her charm to get
him to leave with her. Meanwhile Anya was busy showing the bass player what a
tongue was REALLY for, the poor guy didnt stand a chance.
"Im going to get a bite to eat." Willow whispered to Anya as she led the drummer to
the door.
"I'm right behind you." Anya replied
Angel and Spike watched as the red head left followed shortly by the Madonna
wannabe, they moved through the crowd and followed them out.
When Angel and Spike got outside the vampires were nowhere to be seen. Angel
walked towards the alley that ran behind the club, it was deserted. He turned back
to Spike.
"Well they couldnt have gone far, not unless vampires in this reality can fly!" Angel
said.
"I dont think so." Spike replied, as he pointed towards the cemetery across the
street.
Angel saw four figures walking across the grass. He grabbed Spike and motioned for
him to follow the girls, but as they led the unsuspecting victims to the far corner of
the dark cemetery, they disappeared. Angel and Spike broke into a sprint.
