2006 Warwick Amateur Tournament
May 20 & 21, 2006
Format
36 Hole Individual Stroke Play, 18 holes to be played each day
Eligibility
Open
to male golfers who meet the USGA amateur status rules. Entries are
subject to rejection at any time by tournament officials. The reason
for rejection may include unbecoming conduct and action, which are
detrimental to other players.
Rules
The
rules of golf as approved by the USGA will govern play. Local Rules
will be provided at the starters table. Use of cell phones, pagers,
beepers and the like will not be allowed during the stipulated round.
(Violation of this prohibition will result in a warning; continued
violation shall result in a disqualification in accordance with the
eligibility statement on the entry form.)
Rain Policy
In
the event that one or more rounds are not completed due to inclement
weather, the Tournament Committee reserves the right to reduce the
number of rounds and size of field in the championship.
Dress Code
Participants
must adhere to the club dress code. In addition, jeans, short
shorts, cut-offs, gym shorts, tank tops, tee shirts, or swimwear are
not permitted. Golf shoes must be equipped with soft spikes; “No
metal spikes will be permitted.”
Practice Rounds
You
may schedule a practice round at the golf course, May 8th
to the 19th. Practice rounds are not included in the
entry fee. Inquire at the Pro Shop for rates.
Entry Deadline
Entries
must be received by 5:00 PM, May 17th. No phone or faxed
entries. Starting times and tournament information may be obtained
by contacting the Newport News Golf Club at (757) 886-7925 after
10:00 AM, May 18th.
Entry Fee: $125.00
(Includes
range ball for both days, a mandatory cart fee) Incomplete or
Incorrect Entry Forms will not be accepted. No refunds after
deadline date. Withdrawal prior to deadline – entry fee
subject to a 25% administration fee.

Waiver
for participants: In consideration of accepting this registration, I
hereby waive and release and all rights and claims for damages I may
have against the Deer Run Men’s Golf Association and the
Newport News Golf Club and its representatives, successors and
assigns, for any and all injuries suffered by myself at this
activity.
A portion of the proceeds from the golf tournament will go to support the
Walter Lashlie “Red” Speigle Scholarship Fund
