Dr. Manell's Retirement Letter

Dear Patients and Friends,

I am writing to let you know I will be retiring from the practice of Optometry on June 30th. I have enjoyed forty-one very fulfilling years of providing optometric care. I am truly grateful you have allowed me to care for your vision and eye care needs and I am hopeful you literally have a better “outlook “on the world around us. I have always given my best efforts for you at the office and I appreciate the friendship you have given in return.

Many of you have already met Dr. Michael Cooper, my son-in-law.  We have enjoyed a wonderful family practice for the past fourteen years. Together we have selected a new associate for the office, Dr. Lisa Breen who will join us this June. Dr. Breen completed her undergraduate studies at U.S.C. and will complete her professional degree this May at The University of Berkeley School of Optometry. Dr. Breen is returning to her hometown of Escondido as did Dr. Cooper. Both doctors are trained at the highest level of our profession and you can feel confident they will provide an outstanding level of care for your visual welfare. Our office staff will always do their best to make your visits to our office a pleasant experience. I must sincerely thank our staff for taking good care of both you and me over the years.

You may wish to visit our website to view some of our recent office updates and remodeling and learn more about Dr. Cooper and Dr. Breen. www.drsmanellandcooper.com

I will certainly keep busy in the future. My wife and I will travel some, play a little golf, try to stay in great shape, and enjoy many sunsets together. We have two wonderful grandkids: Paige (age 13) has a passion for basketball and Trenton (age 10) will always be at my side on fishing trips.

Thanks again to all of you; you will be missed. Be sure to say “hello” when we meet in town (hint: when in Costco check the book section). I may not always remember your name, but I will always remember you.

Sincerely,

Kenneth R. Manell, O.D.
