I have been in full-time ministry for over thirty-three years, twenty-three years as a pastor and ten years in Evangelism. From my personal experience, as well as listening to my preacher friends, I believe I understand many of the experiences that pastors and their families go through. While traveling in Evangelism, many pastors would ask to spend time with me. They simply wanted to talk and they needed someone to listen who understood what they were going through. I have often asked congregations in my meetings, ‘Who is the Pastors’ Pastor?’ The only answer that even remotely made sense was ‘God.’ Often people replied, “He’s the Pastor, he doesn’t need a Pastor!’ Unfortunately, most congregations know very little about the Pastor and his needs. So, I would explain that every Christian can and should go directly to the Lord with their cares, but who is there in flesh and blood that the pastor can talk to and get help? Unfortunately, the answer is often ‘No one.’ Most pastors can list on one hand the friends whom they can trust to confide in when they need to. That is sad and more importantly, often very consequential. Please read through the various articles on this site. They are meant to encourage you. And, if we can be of help, please contact us.
