The Importance of Caring
Belonging to our congregation is like taking up membership in another family. Even though we are large, we believe knowing and caring for one another is an important part of the Christian life. We encourage you to join us for a cup of coffee and fellowship following worship and to become involved with one of our social or learning groups. Some of our groups have been around for a long time, others are being formed this year to meet the needs of today's generation. There are over 20 groups in the church, meeting a wide range of social, learning and need to be of service. In addition to our groups, one-on-one visitation is another important dimension of caring within our church. Whether a person is in crisis, new to the community, or whatever, we strive to maintain a strong bond between members.

How New Members Join
Membership in the church is seen as discipleship to Christ. When we make this commitment, we are yielding ourselves to Him as Lord and Savior. Church membership is seen as a way of life and a very important part of who we are as believers. Orientation sessions are held several times during the year to introduce new members to our faith and practices. Upon completion of the sessions, meeting with the church council, and affirmation by the church as a whole, each new member is extended a welcoming greeting (we call this the Hand of Fellowship) prior to Communion of the ensuing month. We would be glad to talk further with you when you are ready to take this step.
