"Dr. Doug" started playing the bass in 1975 when he and current Branson, MO star Doug Gabriel started The New Relations. He later played for 6 years in The Silver Dollar Band with blues artist Craig Erickson. Doug's nickname relates to his day job. Dr. Doug Sawyer is a chemistry professor at Scottsdale Community College.
