About this site

This site began as the Internet Partners of America Deathmatcher's Association page and started out for the sole reason that the Quake servers on IPA were not set public and didn't show up on master server lists, so the only way to get players was word of mouth and often the official page had outdated or just plain wrong information. (Stuff like the page listed one of the addresses with a space in it, and if copied and pasted will result in failure to connect, servers not listed on the main page and findable only by a port scan, etc.) To help get people in the area surrounding the Northwest corner of Arkansas serviced by my IPA (Arkansas, Missouri, & Oklahoma) on the servers I built this site. Interest in Q2 had declined a lot since Counterstrike and other games were introduced, but we had a pretty good attendance on the IPA Q2 deathmatch server until IPA was bought out by earthlink (Jan 2001) and discontinued the game servers without any notice. During this time I became involved with the Northwest Arkansas Quakers and had went to nearly all their lanparties. Frodo (Mike Jones) had organized nearly all the events until the beginning of 2000 and maintained the NAQ page as well.

After a while a combination of real life and burnout resulted in Frodo not updating the page often, so I asked him if I could take over the page. I changed my site over to the Northwest Arkansas Gamers. This site was mainly used for the NWARG to list directions to lanparty events. Since then, the group has disbanded. I keep this site up now to publicize regional lanparty groups and thier respective lanparties announcements.
