Merry Christmas & Happy New
Year...
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...Liz and I pass along our love to all our relatives and friends from the East Coast to the West Coast. We had a good year, albeit one more year older (Dick reached the big 70!), and are looking forward to an even better 2003.
We are happy with retired life, Liz with sewing, swimming, quilting, cooking and reading and Dick with his computers, golfing and web-sites. We didn't travel much during 2002, but plan to start the new year in Las Vegas for a few days and be in Louisville in June for Karen Modjeski's wedding. We are also pleased to see all of our kids and their kids growing and learning as we watch and encourage them to enjoy life.
Tom and Linda have been travelling quite a bit and both working hard in their careers. Tom is a very successful Information Processing systems manager for LA County and Linda is just as successful in her job as an international quality control consultant. They live in Simi Valley, California, about 130 miles north of Oceanside.
Julie's life is settling down in Orange County, California and her kids, Ashley (21), Amber (19), Aimee (17) and Travis (15) are becoming even more successful in the National, International and Southern California water polo scene.Amber helped our USA team to a Silver Medal recently in Perth, Australia.
Think Greece for the 2004 Olympics!!!!
...and Ashley starts her senior year on the UCLA water polo team...and Aimee will start her freshman year at UC Santa Barbara come next September...and Travis is shining as a water polo goalie and basketball player as a freshman in High School.
Laura and Mark are enjoying their family, jobs and friends living nearby in Escondido, California about 20 miles east of Oceanside. Laura works for Charles Schwab as a financial representative and Mark is still travelling the high seas as a First Mate on merchant marine ships back and forth to Hong Kong, as well as being an accomplished cabinet builder. He built my computer desk (see picture below). Tyler (10) is active in Tai Chi and Austin (9) can dunk the basketball on anyone!!!
Linda lives close-by in Oceanside, with Heather (13) and Haleigh (6). She recently got engaged to Tommie Mastracchio. We get to see her and the kids almost every day, as Linda is working for Josten's all over Southern California and nearby states. Heather and Haleigh love school and are enjoying being in adjacent schools. Pierce (10) lives with his father in Burbank and we all enjoy the times we get together for parties, birthdays, holidays or special events.

If you were counting that's 9 grandkids...that we have been blessed with...as well as 4 wonderful kids...
Here's hoping that you and your family have a great Holiday and that 2003 will be the BEST of years......CHEERS..
