DREAMLAND VILLA COMPUTER CLUB

General Meeting – April 3, 2002

The meeting was called to order at approximately 9:15 AM at Farnsworth Hall.

President stated that the guest today would be filling your empty ink cartridges and if anyone wanted to be excused to go home to retrieve them, now would be the time.

Mention was made of the EVAC meeting at Las Palmas on Thursday and asked if anyone could or wanted to attend.

President John Ahrens noted that there were 3 guests present . John asked for a show of hands of people who would be staying the summer and it appears about 50% of those in attendance would be staying at least most of the summer.

Dick Posz will be keeping his genealogy class going most of the summer and Dorretta Anderson will be having some classes also. Will try to have workshops once or twice a month for people in the general membership. These will probably be on Wed. evenings.

There was discussion regarding another potluck sometime in June or July. Hopefully, interest can be stimulated for the membership by getting together during the summer. Helen Rosenwald will again do her good work in regard to the potluck.

A motion was made and seconded to accept the reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting.

Motion was made and seconded to accept the Treasurer’s Report.

Under old business, the question on buying a new computer was again broached. All were reassured that the money would be spent wisely and the membership would be informed if and when the purchase is made.

Keith Miller reported that there were 41 members present with 3 guests.

The blanks on the month’s calendar are due to the fact that many people have returned to their summer homes and more will be going.

Paul Quinney had the winning number for the kitty. The pot contained $14.50 which he donated back to the club.

The only new business was still the work looking for a new computer for the club.

Our speaker for the day, Robert Craft, was unable to be here, so Steve Miller filled in for him. Steve proceeded to explain the refilling of ink cartridges for various printers and refilled those that some of the membership brought in. He explained about the various kits he has for sale at the Swap Mart and stated that he is there every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in a booth by the swimming pool people. He is available to either refill your cartridges or explain how to do your own with his kits. He then took questions from the audience.

John Ahrens thanked our speaker and asked for any comments. There being none the meeting was adjourned at approximately 10:35 AM.

Respectfully submitted, Joan Lewis, Secretary
