President Gardner reported that our computer room now has wireless networking and high speed internet connection on all computers. We thank all those who worked so hard in making this possible.

The last week of November, our scanner quit working. We now have a new 3970 HP scanner. Very soon a new laser printer will be needed.

To date, Microsoft has given the club about $8000.00 worth of software which we appreciate very much.

Thanks to Donna Hanson for writing the articles for the Citizen and thank you to Ramona and Bob Summers for keeping our website going.

Howard Hanson gave a report on the November Azacc meeting. Their discussion involved downloading problems.

President Gardner appointed the following people to serve as auditors for our Treasurer’s records: Sam Engleman, Deanna Gottschling and Kay Hawbaker.

Five software programs were on display. These programs will be sold at a silent auction. Sealed bids will be accepted until January 25, 2005. Winning bids will be announced at the February meeting.

Winner of the 50/50 drawing for $20.00 was George Rauch.

Mike Sorem announced the procedure for the election of the 2005 board of directors. Five members will be leaving and five new ones will join the remaining board members. The five new people to be chosen are as follows: Gail Henderson, Sonja Miller, Annie Province, Fred Ruth and Paul Quinney. They will join Judy Gardener, Howard Hanson, Dee McBain and Elaine Westhaues. Motion by John Shideler, seconded by George Rauch "To elect the entire slate as presented". Motion passed. Those leaving the board are: Al Hainje, John Musgrave, George Rauch, John Shideler and Mike Sorem.

A joint board meeting with the 2004 members and the newly elected members will be held on December 17 at 8:30 am in Room 9.

The next General DCC meeting will be held on January 5th, 2005. Discussion will be on proposed changes in the Club’s By-laws along with the regular business meeting. There will be NO guest presenter at this meeting.

On January 14, 2005 we will hold a special meeting that will be open to the public. Our guest presenter will be someone from Microsoft. They usually have a very informative program and have many door prizes.

There will be NO business meeting at this program.

Our guest presenter today is Mr. Peter Nolan, owner of Soft Que. Soft Que is located on Stapley just north of Main in Mesa. Service is their primary concern but they also do consulting work along with sales of used and new equipment. They will build a computer to suit your specific needs. They have a very strict privacy policy and have been in business for 15 years. They will actually show you your machine operation on their test bench.

Important things to consider if your machine is operating slower than it did previously are: you should do your operating maintenance like defraging once a month and don’t forget your machine will collect dust internally when running. Spyware causes many problems. "Spy Bot" is a good spyware program. Virus problems have been less frequent than before. Keep your critical updates installed. Never run more than one virus protection program.

President Gardener adjourned the meeting at 10:45 am.

Respectfully submitted by Al Hainje, Secretary
