President Judy Gardner opened the meeting by welcoming the 59 people present and introduced the 2004 board members.
Minutes of the February meeting were read and approved.
Treasurer’s report was given and filed for audit.
President Gardner thanked all those who have been teaching classes and writing newsletter articles.
Howard Hanson gave a report on the February Evacc meeting. They are trying to set up wireless communications in some RV parks.
The room 9 projector bulb failed and a new one was purchased and installed. A new shutdown procedure will be used from now on.
All the unused computer equipment has been donated to SunShine Acres. A Thank You note has been received from them for our donation.
President Gardner expressed the need for the club to update four (4) machines to the XP system.
The question was asked, "Why don’t we do five (5) machines?" At the present time our treasury will only allow four (4) machines.
John Kunkel made the motion "to allow the board to spend $2,000.00 and buy as many as possible for this amount". Dick Posz seconded the motion. Motion passed.
There was a discussion on perhaps raising our dues to enlarge our treasury. At the present time our dues are among the lowest in the valley.
Some people do not know that the DVCC board does not allow any monies in their budget toward the purchase of our equipment. It is all done using our dues and donations by generous members.
Maxine Rykins announced at the meeting that she would donate enough funds to purchase the fifth (5th) XP machine. Thank you Maxine.
Our club calendar for March is full. Pat and Claudette Davis will again be available to do another class on March 12th.
Our web site is still going strong thru the efforts of Bob and Ramona Summers.
Winner of the 50/50 drawing for $25.00 was Richard Weiland.
Our guest speaker was Mr. Ronald Ostrom. Mr. Ostrom’s presentation was a culmination of facts about digital cameras and their uses. His entire presentation is on a CD. Mr. Ostrom gave the club a one of these CDs. Any one desiring a copy must bring a blank CD to be copied by one of our instructors.
Five (5) door prizes were given to lucky ticket holders.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
