Meeting Minutes
December 5, 2007
At 9:00 A.M. President Judy
Gardner called the meeting to order with 40 members 3 guests present. She
welcomed everyone.
The
minutes of the November meeting were read by Secretary, Kay Hawbaker.
Janet
Harbaugh gave the Treasurer’s report with a November balance of $924.36.
President
Gardner thanked Lois Hanje and Gail Henderson for doing the Registration table
this morning; Dee McBain for publishing weekly reminders, the monthly calendars
and agreeing to do the member name tags later after the first of the year.
She thanked Al Hanje for the desk extensions installed on all the desks
in Computer Lab.
Announcements:
The maintenance staff of DVCC will be painting the Computer Lab during
the holidays. They will clean the
heating ducts, change the windows, and replace the projector screen will a brand
new one.
On
December 8, at 9:00 AM, Pat & Claudette Davis
from “Serving Online Seniors” will present a Question and Answer
workshop.
Bylaws
state that December’s General Meeting hold an election for new board members.
President Gardner thanked the out going board members: Chuck Krasselt and John
Shideler. She also stated that Tom Sides has moved out of Dreamland Villa and
his position is available. Joanne Nipple and Dottie Bagshaw, members of the
nominating committee submitted the slate of candidates running for the open
positions on the board as follows: Catherine
Anderson, Donna Hanson and Gene Meade. No
nominations from the floor were presented at this time. Chuck Kloeckner made the
motion for a “white ballot” to approve all three candidates and it was
seconded by Gail Henderson. The motion passed. As the board elects the officers,
they will be announced at the January meeting.
Members
were reminded that membership dues were now being collected for the 2008 season.
