I was born in Marion, KY. A small town in western Kentucky, but lived most of my childhood in Calvert City, Ky, another small town in western Kentucky.
After high school and after a brief attendance at college, I went into the Army with the 1st Infantry division where I served in South Vietnam. What a rude awakening for a 19 year old country boy.
After the Army, I went to school at Murray State University in Kentucky. I graduated with a B.S degree in Industrial Technology with a specialized area in Graphic Arts.
After college, I taught school for 4 years in Botetourt Co. Virginia. We lived in apartments that had once been Daleville College. As long as I live, I will never have as much fun as I did living there. The other apartment dwellers were all our age, and a diverse and interesting group of people. Many evenings were spent gathered out on the apartment steps playing guitars and generally having a good time. I will always treasure my Daleville memories and friends.
After I quit teaching in Virginia, I bounced around from job to job until I started work at Marble Hill Nuclear Plant in Southern Indiana. This job lasted one year before closing down. From there I moved to Baton Rouge LA, Where I still live. I work at River Bend Nuclear Station at St. Francisville, LA, In the Project Management Department. I do computer application development and project controls.
I have always been interested in creating things whether they are quilts, furniture or computer programs. My first love is furniture making. I am into Early American furniture. I have created several pieces that I am quite proud of. I am currently making bedroom furniture for my grandaughters. My second love is the computer. I started out with a Commodore 64 in the 80's, and discovered that I had a knack for the "soulless sons of bitches". I get a big kick out of creating something from nothing.
Enough of this drivel, please enjoy my page.
