Seamstress? What does that mean?
I went to pick up my wedding dress today and it fit perfectly. Which is great, but, and this is a pretty darn big but, the front of the dress where they had to take it in (right at my chest) was done very very poorly and so it looked like I was Madonna in a cone bra. I was livid. Okay, maybe not livid, but when else do you get to use such a great word? I was a little miffed. So I told the seamstress that our wedding is in, oh, four days, and that I was not leaving until my dress was fixed and pressed. Two hours later, I have my dress. Seriously, how could you not have noticed? The woman claimed that the dress looked fine on the hanger (which it didn't, it wasn't even evenly taken in), and when I tried it on, she even said "Oh, it looks wonderful." Wonderful if you like pointy Madonna hoo-has.
Anyway, no reason to fret, the dress looks great, my hoo-has are nice and rounded (not pointy, phew), and the dress is finally out of their hands.
My Oma is coming in from Germany today. I haven't seen her in almost a year and a half. I am so excited that I told my dad not to bother to pick her up from the airport, that i'd go myself. I think my brother might accompany me. I am hoping to get a bit of knitting done while we wait for her plane to get in. We have to go through the tunnel to get to Norfolk which always takes a little while, so we're going to leave here shortly. It is so strange not having to go to school! I was stressing out last night about all of the work I have to get done before the wedding, but I was able to get most of it done this morning before I went to pick up my dress. I cleaned the kitchen, vaccumed the apartment, did various tedious wedding things, including making about 80 bajillion phone calls.
Hehe, to change the subject rather quickly, I am at my parents' house and my brother (11) just got his interims and I just heard him scream at my mother that C stands for adequate. The poor kid, he is not going to win this one. B's are considered "Blasphemous" in my family, a C is more "Crap" than Adequate. Its going to be a long night, maybe I'll teach him how to knit at the airport :)
