A class to knit in

I had my career counseling class today, I love it. Its not so much that I enjoy the topic, in fact its one of my more mundane classes when it comes to subject matter, but the professor for this class is the same professor I had last semester for group, and I know she doesn't mind if I knit in class. Its also a fairly big class (30+) and so I can sit in the back and just knit away for 3 hours...ahhh! We got out of class half an hour early tonight, but I was still able to make progress on dearest Leo. Proof:

My friend Eleni is in that class too, and she brought her crocheting tonight, we are long lost twins, we're always having the same ideas at the same time. I'm hoping she might teach me a little about crocheting this semester, I know how to do a basic chain but that's pretty much all I know how to do.

Jered made boca burgers for dinner tonight, they were really yummy. They warrented a trip to the grocery store for lettuce and tomato, so I got some new cereal too. I think I'm too easily amused by things because I am a little more excited about having a bowl of fiber one honey cluster cereal than i should be :)
I just had one of those generally overall good days today. I was able to return my two books for addictions class, so that's 90 bucks that can go toward the two books i forgot to buy for the classes i'm actually taking!
Work went by surprisingly fast today too...Apparently yesterday was the most depressing day of the year according to some British chap's prediction, so today, by comparison just seems that much better.

Back to School Cool

Well its back to school for me! I had my second class tonight and decided to drop my extra 5th class. It feels good to cut myself some slack! I just have to figure out how to return my two books since I bought them online at Barnes and Nobles...
It has been bitterly cold here the past three days, we had that front come in, but unfortunately we did not get any snow and didn't get to skip out on work or school today :(
I've been knitting away at clapotis and am almost done with her, here is a picture I took Sunday afternoon before I got to the decrease rows.

Floyd has claimed clapotis for himself as you can see!

But how can you resist this face?

I got my yarn in the mail from Elann today for the socks I'm planning to start once I get clapotis done. I've decided this year that I'm going to try and have no more than three projects going at once. Usually I can start 4 or 5 things at once but then it takes forever to finish any one of them. So I've come up with a list of knitting goals for the new year I know its a bit late, but I wanted to prioritize the projects I have really wanted to make. Hopefully I will get through all of these, two at a time!
Leo
Rogue
Audrey
Tempting
Belle Epoque
Socks Socks and more Socks
Handwarmers from SnBN

I'll keep adding to this list as I think of other projects I want to start. I don't have much of a stash so I don't have to worry about yarn dieting. I'm more in the starving knitter category, wish I could afford a large stash, but I'm a poor grad student and can't really afford to splurge on non-project yarn. One day...
In fact, I think part of the reason I'm getting my master's is to be able to buy more yarn. That's the plan for now at least!

Argh!

This is Jered... I have hijacked this blog for an entry. Esther has taken to playing Pirates of the Spanish Main, and what's a pirate game without a pirate name?

Here is Esthers...

My pirate name is:

Calico Ethel Vane

Often indecisive, you can't even choose a favorite color. You're apt to follow wherever the wind blows you, just like Calico Jack Rackham, your namesake. You tend to blend into the background occaisionally, but that's okay, because it's much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr!

Get your own pirate name from fidius.org.
